Giving out "Starter Kits"

Hey guys, just wanted your opinion on whether or not people should be giving these out. I've seen and attempted to stop a few people (not going to say any names) from giving new Members items such as RM, RM tools, Condensers, and other OP things. In my opinion, this is breaking the balance of power, not to mention the economy in the game and/or the griefing threat. I could see a starter kit consisting of stone tools and a few slices of melon being acceptable, but when people are considering giving DM or RM, it seems too much.
