I'm leaning towards this.
For: It is going to be actively maintained, there is a way to get partial bukkit support, I have a test server with it already configured, it has more mods than any of the other packs, Mystcraft is easily disabled
Against: It may or may not make the server a little more laggy

For tekkit lite: New EE, leting players like me start over again exploring a new world of magical madness, new mods and aditions to mods on the technical side and new minecraft updates.
Against Tekkit lite: No more condensors, quarries will be massively over used= screwed up land everywhere, new greifing tools also removing swiftwolf's rending gale.

Just to tack onto your argument about new EE; its still in development, meaning there will likely be a few updates to Tekkit Lite as it is developed. This could become a problem as we've seen in past Tekkit updates where they have added/removed mods on the fly, forcing the need for map resets. Another argument against Tekkit Lite - Mystcraft. EVERY time someone makes one of those stupid portal books and teleports to a new world, it will put heavy strain on the server, not to mention the space it would be taking up on your hard drive pb.
TL;DR: Tekkit Lite is going to be a pain to transition to, not to mention stay with, due to its active development.
